OUR HISTORY

In 2009, the Clair and Gladys Strommen Center for Meaningful Work was established to recognize Mr. and Mrs. Strommen’s personal commitment to creating meaning and purpose in work and life. The Strommen Center became the fourth of Augsburg’s Centers of Commitment that lift up Augsburg’s core values and institutional vocation. The four Centers of Commitment are the Christensen Center for Vocation, Center for Global Education and Experience, Sabo Center for Democracy and Citizenship, and the Strommen Center for Meaningful Work.

Augsburg students are prepared to be flexible professionals who can thrive in modern work environments. Classes and hands-on experiences help students explore their interests and talents, allowing them to develop skills that lead to success in their professional lives. Career exploration is supported by connections with employers and alumni, integration of career conversations and curriculum across the university, and opportunities to reflect on purpose and meaningful work.
