Epic Personnel Partners is actively hiring an AutoCAD Engineer for a specialty sheet metal fabrication facility in Newington, CT.

Pay Rate: $23–$34/hour (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Full-Time | 9:00AM-5:00PM

Duties: The AutoCAD Engineer is responsible for creating precise fabrication layouts, interpreting technical drawings, and supporting production with detailed designs for various custom metalwork projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate part production and efficient workflow within the sheet metal fabrication process.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed layouts and part drawings using AutoCAD for custom sheet metal fabrication.
  • Read and interpret technical blueprints, shop drawings, and material specifications.
  • Collaborate with production teams to translate conceptual designs into actionable plans.
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy and proper fit-up of parts based on client specifications.
  • Support laser, bending, welding, and finishing operations by providing clear and accurate layout instructions.
  • Review and revise existing drawings and layouts as needed to optimize production efficiency.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings and layout files to support quality and traceability.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software (entry-level to advanced accepted).
  • Understanding of sheet metal processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and layout efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: laser operation, press brake bending, welding, or finishing.
  • General computer literacy and file management for CAD documents.
