Overview:

Members of the Media Team report to the Media Supervisor and hold primary responsibility for digital photography and video projects relating to YSSC’s ministry. The Media Team will, at times, work in conjunction with the Program Director and other leadership staff in order to enrich program and to accomplish media objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Take daily digital photos/video capturing the life and community of YSSC for the purpose of program enrichment, parent communication and marketing efforts.
  2. Schedule/work systematically to ensure all cabin groups and all activities are photographed regularly with the goal of every camper being captured at least every other day. (including portrait, small group and large group shots)
  3. Download, edit, catalog, and purge (as needed) digital photos/video.
  4. Post a minimum of 100 photos to the YSSC website every day for camper parents to view.
  5. Provide photos/video for and assist as needed in the production of the following projects:
  • Four session Memory Books (1 per session)
  • End-of- Session Recaps
  • End-of-summer Staff Recap
  • Reunion SlideShow (to be presented in fall)
  • Four Memories Videos
  1. Participate in Cabin Buddy program (optional)
  2. Understand that all photography produced during summer is the property of YSSC and may not be drawn on for personal use except with permission of camper parent or staff member.
  3. Other duties as assigned.

EQUIPMENT:

YSSC Media Team typically uses their personal photography equipment. YSSC will cover the cost of insurance on such equipment if desired, but is not responsible for loss or damage to equipment. YSSC will provide digital photography software and Mac computer and hard drive for editing and storing of photos, as well as internet access for posting images to the website. Preferred for team members to possess and bring a laptop.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Able to articulate a personal faith in God and forgiveness of sin based on salvation by grace through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  2. Able to shoot, edit, catalog and post a high volume of digital images daily.
  3. Able to work quickly and independently.
  4. Possess the stamina and organization required to meet demanding job responsibilities.
  5. Able to walk around campus and to and from the lake on a daily basis, up to 1-3 miles per day.
  6. Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  7. Able to assist campers in emergencies (evacuation, illness, etc.) and stamina to maintain constant supervision of campers if in your care.
