Krause Law PLLC is seeking a part time Intern – Legal Assistant to perform legal assistant and administrative work. The law practice is located in Lake Elmo, MN. This is a hybrid position (in person and remote) and subject to our remote worker policy.
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform writing and editing for specific projects related to employment and disability rights.
- Use of Adobe for document management, editing and signing legal documents.
- Proofing memoranda, drafting correspondence and editing legal documents.
- Interfacing with prospective clients for scheduling and data collection.
- Preparing and organizing materials for motions or trials.
- Perform and summarize research to facilitate content development for publications.
- Fielding questions from clients and relaying summaries of communications.
- Develop familiarity with legal forms and related documents.
Requirements:
- Formal paralegal training from an accredited program, or other four-year degree program is preferred.
- 1+ years working in administrative/support in a law firm or professional office setting preferred.
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
- Strong written and exceptional verbal communication skills.
- Must maintain a high level of professionalism and possess ability to speak with clients on the phone and in person
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Must take initiative, be highly organized and detail-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Analyze and interpret established policies.
- Change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
- Familiarity with LexisNexis and Westlaw legal research platforms.
- Familiarity with Apple computers preferred.
- Must have the ability to read, analyze, interpret and assess legal and non-legal documents proficiently and be able to determine how to process accordingly.
