Non-Tailored Cover Letters
When might I use a non-tailored cover letter?
You will almost always tailor your cover letter to a specific job, but there are a few exceptions:
- If you are in Education, Social Work, or in another program that has general applications or placement for fieldwork, internships, and/or practicums.
- If you are asked to write a cover letter for a class assignment but do not need to find a job post to submit along with it.
- Other instances when you are writing towards a range of opportunities (such as a fellowship or general internship pool).
